Some n00b questions

Hi!

I've been riding for a year now, all on my own. I could only learn from YT so i have a few questions that may be obvious for you.

-If a board has two WB, 24 and 26 for example, you can only choose those? or you can mix them? I mean for example, leave the back truck in the shortest position and move to front truck to the longest one?

-How many lvls of durometer can you mix? I mean for example 93a boardside and 90a roadside, can i use 93/87 or i have to downgrade 1 durometer only?

-Speaking about Calibers 3, why many riders use tall barrells? I mean, for sliding you want an end to lean right? but tall barrels give more lean, so whats the deal?

- You can mix them. For downhill and freeride the modern mindset is to stand over your truck. So it'd be more ideal to have the front shortest and the rear further. If your board has a kicktail moving the rear will change how it pops (RKPs and TKPs handle pop differently and my wheels never leave the ground so can't help ya there)

- I like to only use the same duro or the next duro avaible. However there are riders out there that will use something like a 80/90a combo in their front truck and skate way better than myself. If you have the bushings already doesn't hurt to experiment.

- Using a tall boardside in caliber 3s will give you more lean which generally means more stability/suited for speed. I prefer all regs in my cast trucks.

HI, thanks a lot for clarifying.

I have the Theory v2 and Calibers 10' 44º raked. I've been going harder on the bushings, now using tall barrel 93a board and plug barrel 93a roadside.
Im 1,80m tall and 75kg, i think they are a little hard for me but as im learning i feel more confidence going hard. I tryed short barrels too, which i hear they are better for freeride as the return to center should be faster but didn't notice much difference, i guess cause i didnt go fast enough.

i'll keep experimenting, planing on getting a shorter WB board. Thanks again ang have fun too

meh you don't need a short wheelbase if your still learning. Skate what you got and dial it up based on the feedback of how it feels. I get it though it says your in Spain. The first day I skated in Spain in 2014 I remember hitting a guardrail, the roads are narrow. The road in this photo was actually pretty wide tho, I have no clue where it was in Spain tho. Excuse me if your not from Spain it just says that

Allright, i'm a little lost on gear, the main problem is that although i keep looking, no ones skates downhill near me, there aren't shops or anyhting. So i have to experiment on tthings and gear by myself, thats why i thought on getting a different board.

Yes im from Galicia, northwest of Spain. here the hills are very steep and the roads are very narrow indeed. Also is ilegal to skate on the road, only sidewalks.
